Durable, Hygienic Cabinetry for Clean Room Suit & Shoe Storage

For this client’s clean room facility, we designed and fabricated a set of custom storage cabinets engineered for daily sanitation, long-term durability, and ergonomic use. The system includes wardrobe-style cabinets for cleanroom suits, cubby storage for dedicated footwear, and integrated bench seating for employees transitioning in and out of their gear.

Built for Cleanability and Use in Controlled Environments

Every detail of this build was optimized for hygienic performance:

  • The cabinets are constructed from White Formica-clad MDF, offering a smooth, wipeable surface that can withstand frequent chemical cleaning without degrading.

  • Panels are mitered on all sides, eliminating exposed edges and seams that can harbor dust or bacteria.

  • Tops of the cabinets were angled downward — a subtle but important design move to prevent dust buildup and make daily cleaning faster and easier for staff.

Smart, Functional Design for High-Use Areas

Inside, we installed clothes bars for hanging full-length clean room suits. Below, we added rows of open cubbies for shoe storage, which also double as seating benches to make it easier for workers to change footwear before and after their shift.

To extend the longevity of each unit in a high-traffic area, we clad all exposed front edges with industrial-grade black ABS plastic, providing long-lasting protection from carts, cleaning tools, and daily wear.

These cabinets have now been in daily use for over six years without requiring a single repair or replacement part — a testament to the durability of our fabrication, material selection, and edge detailing.
