Reception Counter & Back Bar Display

High-Impact Reception Counter with Custom Lighting, Acrylic Shelving & Gold Veneers

This dramatic reception space showcases a fusion of precision fabrication and rich material contrast, designed to impress from the moment guests enter. We fabricated a 12-foot Corian reception counter, integrated cabinetry, custom acrylic shelving, and LED-driven lighting effects — all tied together with acoustic wood paneling and smoke mirror accents.

Front Counter: Sculptural Form with Seamless Detail

The centerpiece is a 12-foot reception counter fabricated from Corian Stonecrest Smoke, a bold, marble-look surface with subtle grey veining. We created a waterfall edge that drops down on the guest side — stopping 12" short of the floor to reveal a gold aluminum veneer panel, dramatically backlit with color-changing LED strip lighting.

The counter was CNC-routed with the company’s name and filled with matte black resin, producing a flawless, smooth-surface logo reveal. Behind the desk, we constructed full-length cabinetry in Wilsonart Black Velvet veneer, providing functional storage with a luxurious, low-sheen finish. We also recessed a workstation cutout for the receptionist’s chair.

Back Bar Display: Light, Reflection & Depth

Behind the counter, we installed a suite of tall cabinets in gold-look aluminum veneer with a black marble countertop. Integrated into the counter are two color-changing LED light strips:

  • One downlight washes the gold cabinetry in warm or cool tones

  • One uplight enhances the 2-inch-thick acrylic display shelving above

The acrylic shelves are beveled on the front edge to increase light refraction and visual depth, transforming simple shelving into a light sculpture. The entire wall is flanked by smoked mirrors, extending the perceived space and creating an infinity reflection effect with the acrylic shelving.
