Walnut & Brass Cabinets

Custom Walnut Bar Cabinetry with Brass Inlay – An Exibition of Skills

This handcrafted piece was designed to showcase a collection of rare Japanese whiskey and fine Napa Valley wines while also functioning as a demonstation of our various skillsets. Built in our state-of-the-art manufacturing facility in Petaluma, the cabinet features an interplay of natural wood, metal, acrylic, modern detailing, and traditional symbolism — inspired by the Japanese rising sun.

Materiality & Craftsmanship

The structure is crafted from walnut-veneered plywood for stability and solid walnut doors, wire-brushed and stained a deep, dark tone to reveal grain texture and create a moody contrast. Inside, the cabinet features a smoother, lighter walnut finish, offering warmth and visual clarity that balances the overall aesthetic.

The brass inlay on the doors was inspired by the geometry of the Japanese flag, with rays radiating outward from an off-center sun — each one precisely aligned across multiple door panels. The thinnest rays taper to just 1/32 of an inch, requiring extreme precision during fabrication. Behind the inlays sits Optium Museum Acrylic, an ultra-clear, anti-glare material that allows light through the brass lines while keeping dust out of the cabinet. Optium also filters out 99% of harmful UV light which ensures the spirits and wines inside are not impacted.

A Showcase for Rare Spirits

This is cabinetry designed not only for storage, but for experience. Every line and angle was created to support the feeling of ritual and refinement that comes with sharing exceptional bottles. Whether the lights are warm and golden or cool and modern, the interplay between brass, walnut, and light remains striking.
